How Laxman Bikaner got found online

A well-loved sweet shop and restaurant with loyal local customers, and an online presence that didn't match its reputation. Here's what we changed, step by step.

Laxman Bikaner is a sweet shop and restaurant with years of loyal local customers. People knew the shop, loved the sweets and recommended it to friends. Online, though, the business didn't look nearly as established as it really was.

This is the story of how we gave it a solid digital ground, following the same three steps we use for every business: be found, be trusted, be chosen.

The starting point

The shop's reputation lived almost entirely offline. A customer hearing about Laxman Bikaner and searching for it online would not get a clear, complete picture of the menu, the branches or how to order. For a business with this much to offer, there was a clear gap between how good it was and how it looked online.

Step 1: Be found

Google Business Profiles

We set up and completed the shop's Google Business Profiles, so each location shows up on Google Search and Maps with the right name, category, address, phone number, opening hours and photos. We made sure every detail matched the website exactly, so Google and customers see one consistent business.

Search foundations

The new website was built so Google can read every page easily: clear page titles and descriptions, a fast mobile-friendly layout and structured data describing the shop, its branches and its menu. These are the foundations of SEO for a local business.

Step 2: Be trusted

A refreshed brand

We refreshed the shop's brand identity, giving it a clear logo, colours and fonts that work everywhere, from the website to the counter. The aim was not to change who they are, but to make sure the brand looked as established as the business.

A new website

We built a new website with the full menu, the shop's story and every branch, designed to work beautifully on a phone. Customers can browse sweets and dishes, see prices and find each location in a few taps.

Step 3: Be chosen

Easy ordering on WhatsApp

Throughout the website, order and enquiry buttons open WhatsApp with a message ready to send. That fits how the shop already works with customers, so there's nothing new to learn on either side.

Print that leads online

We designed print with QR codes, so a customer at the counter or holding a box can scan straight to the menu, WhatsApp or the review page. Our guide on QR codes for shops explains the approach.

A Zomato menu with photos

For customers who order for delivery, we also set up the shop's Zomato menu, with photos of its sweets and dishes. Delivery customers can see what they're ordering before they order it. The shop is listed on Zomato as Bikaner Mishthan Bhandar. Our guide to delivery menu descriptions explains what makes a delivery menu work.

The result

Today, customers can browse the menu, find each branch on Google, reach the shop from a QR code on the counter and order delivery from a Zomato menu with photos. Everything they see, online and in the shop, tells the same story.

The website is also fast and well built. Measured with Google PageSpeed Insights, it scores 92 for Performance and 100 for SEO on mobile, and 96 for Performance and 100 for SEO on desktop, with 97 for Accessibility and 100 for Best Practices on both. (Scores can vary slightly between runs.) Our guide to Google Lighthouse explains what these scores mean.

What other businesses can take from this

  1. Start with what customers see first: your Google listing.
  2. Make every detail match across Google, your website and your social pages.
  3. Make ordering easy in the way your customers already prefer, often WhatsApp.
  4. Connect the shop to the screen with QR codes on counters, menus and packaging.
  5. Keep it current, especially around festivals.
